Location

We are close enough to the centre of Gloucester to walk, and far enough from the city nightlife to get a peaceful sleep.Walk at ease to restaurants, cafes, Gloucester Guildhall, GL1, Gloucester Quays, Gloucester Cathedral and much more.

Parking

Our car park is a real bonus. Hotels with parking in Gloucester is a rarity, we are the closest hotel to the centre with a car park. Guests arriving early or staying after checkout are welcome to use it, just let us know. We also have a lockup available for bicycles.

Sleep

There are no late night functions at the Edward Hotel and our bar is ideal for a quiet drink and chat, it is not a place to consume large quantities of alcohol until the early hours. All front facing rooms and most rear, have secondary glazing.

Wi Fi - Skype - Webcam - and Guest Computer

All rooms have access to WiFi. At reception there is a computer free for guest use with skype and a webcam.

By 2011 Superior rooms will have data cable links and laptop safes.

HDtv - 140+ Digital TV and Radio stations

The 'Edward' is keeping in front of the rest with quality TV. High Definition TV on flat screen tvs with pc and hdmi connections are in most rooms. Freesat channels are available in all rooms. Room12 has a 42" tv!!

Our blend of quality and value

We try to blend a reasonable level of quality, with genuine good value. Since one person’s version of ‘luxurious’ could be another person’s ‘nightmare’, we have put plenty of photographs for you to judge what we offer. What you see is what you get.

Our claim

We don’t claim to compete with hotels sporting antiques, marble floors, bidets, art deco, or a la carte dining restaurants. We do claim to offer a pleasant place where you can have a genuine memorable stay at a civilised cost.

Two Stars

We choose to remain at 2 stars with an emphasis on bedrooms rather than food and formality.We have styled the Edward Hotel so that rooms feel beyond what is expected of a two star hotel. If you do not want pools or gyms consider 2 stars, consider us.
