Location is one of our strengths.
We are close enough to the city centre to walk to and far away enough
not to be bothered by the function venues.
|
The Edward is ideal for a number of business sites: Gloucester Business Park, Barnwood, GCHQ, RAF Innsworth, Eastern Avenue, Royal Hospital, Gloucester Quays and Oxstalls campus. |
| |
We are approx' 2 miles from junction 11 and 11a of the M5; a 15 minute drive to the centre of Cheltenham, which is served by bus regularly; and a 20 min drive to Tewkesbury or Stroud. |
| The Edward is approx' a 500 metre stroll from Northgate St, the start of the city centre. The stroll along London Road passes some classic Victorian, Edwardian, Georgian, & Queen Anne architecture. Northgate St. was once the end of the famous Roman Ermin Street, that started in Cirencester!. |
| Northgate Street was part of the medieval city and has some beaufitul Tudor buildings. It leads to Gloucester Cathedral, the Guildhall, museums, Blackfriars, the Quays, the Docks, as well as the main shops and restaurants. |
| |
| Northgate, Southgate, Westgate, and Eastgate streets form a cross around which the medieval city was based. London Road is an extension of that cross. |
| |
| The bus & railway stations are close enough to walk to, 300m to the left of London Rd. |
| |
The Edward Hotel backs onto the grounds of the Gloucester Royal Hospital. The Oxstalls University campus is a short stroll, as is the Gloucestershire Archives, and GL1, the leisure centre. Gloucester Rugby ground, Kingsholm, is a five minute walk as is the Irish Club.
|
| |
| At the city end of London Road is a garage, chemist, newsagents, bookmakers, two restaurants and a fish and chip shop. There is a Sainsbury's this end of Northgate St. |
| |
| The Englands Glory pub is 70 metres away and is the closest place for meals. |
