Why choose 'the Edward' |
 |
We aim to remain the best small hotel in Gloucester |
The ‘Edward’ is a two star hotel. At two stars the emphasis is on accommodation. (The more stars the more emphasis is upon food, formality and facilities that are often not taken advantage of). If two stars is right for you, then consider us.
We blend professionalism with personality. We will try to help you feel at ease whether weary or wary, on business or pleasure. We value your custom and value your opinion of us.
Our Rooms
We have tried to style and fashion ‘the Edward’ so that our rooms feel beyond what is expected of a two star hotel . We don’t claim to compete with those hotels sporting antiques, marble floors, bidets, or gyms. We do claim to offer a pleasant place where you can have a memorable stay at a civilised cost. |

A Balance of quality and value |
We blend our version of a reasonable level of quality, with genuine good value. Since one person’s version of ‘luxurious’ could be another person’s ‘nightmare’, we have put plenty of photographs for you to judge what we offer. WYSIWYG.
Internet Access
All rooms can access broadband internet via wireless connections. At reception there is a computer soley for the use of guests, free of charge.
Parking in Gloucester can be frustrating. Our car park is a real bonus, and we are the closest starred hotel to the centre with such a car park. Guests arriving early or staying after checkout are welcome to use it, just let us know.
We are close enough to the centre to forget the car and far enough from the bars and clubs to avoid that boom-boom feeling. Walk to GL1, Records Office, Hospital, University, Guildhall, Docks, Cathedral, and Kingsholm.
There’s no late night function room at the Edward. If you fancy drinking all night then you are probably better off staying elsewhere since our bar is more sociable and chatty rather than party, and tends to close around 11pm. By February 08 all 8 of 25 bedrooms facing the front will have secondary glazing.
