Telephoning the hotel direct allows us to tailor your booking better than can be done online. If you have a preferences such as; rear facing, lower level, or being close to another room, then this can be easily managed by phone. Other preferences such as closeness to an exit for external smoking areas, rooms with shower grip rails, rooms with bath, ground floor rooms or rooms close to the dining area are often requested by our guests. Online booking agents allow you to make requests but cannot guarantee it.

Another advantage of booking by phone is that we can match and often beat the lowest rate that you find online without so many strings attached. The cheapest rates through online agents are often non-refundable advance purchase bookings.

Cancellations

If you have booked The Edward Hotel through an agent online or otherwise, then we cannot cancel the reservation. You will have been sent or given a confirmation from the agent with cancellation terms and details of how to cancel. If you cancel within the terms sent to you by the agent then the charges will apply whatever the circumstances.

The same conditions generally apply if booking direct with the hotel though in some circumstances we may be able to offer different dates or if we manage to resell the room we will not charge you.  Booking direct may also give you a shorter cancellation window.

Some bookings made on an ‘advance purchase’ basis may be charged for at the time of booking and are non-refundable whatever the circumstances.

If you have booked more than one room and one of your party cancels then as the booker you will be liable for the charge.
